November TBR

Seriously, where did the year go!? How is it November and how did we get here so quickly! I swear, as I get older, the years seem to go faster and faster! It makes my TBR so daunting!

This month, my TBR consists of books that have been on my TBR for a long while, books that just appeared in my hands whilst I was walking through the library, and books that I have received from NetGalley as advanced reader copies. I am giving myself a goal of 5 books this month, and hopefully I can achieve it!

So let’s dive straight in!

#1 – The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

This is a bit of a cheat, because I am already halfway through it.. but wow is it a fantastic read so far! This series has been on my TBR for way longer than it should have been, but that appears to be the nature of TBR’s.

#2 – Nyxia Unleashed by Scott Reintgen

If you read my previous October Wrap-Up post, you will have seen that I read Nyxia last month… and it was fantastic. So naturally I had to get the next book in the series (or trilogy? I can’t remember). Hopefully this one will be as fast paced and intriguing as the first book. The ending of Nyxia, left a lot up in the air, so I am looking forward (nervously) to getting some answers!

#3 – Broken Things by Lauren Oliver

This bad boy has been on my TBR since it was announced that Lauren was releasing it. I love her writing style and this sounds right up my alley! Three best friends, obsessed with a book, accused of murder and eventually their delusions become their reality and they are unable to tell what is reality or fiction! Come on, doesn’t that sound great! So yes, for obvious reasons, this is on my November TBR.

#4 – Romanov by Nadine Brandes

I received this from NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review (Obviously), and I am both excited and also a little not so sure about it. I didn’t enjoy Fawkes (Nadine Brande’s debut novel), but I loved the tale of Anastasia when I was growing up, and this book is a retelling. So naturally I am drawn to it.

#5 – To Best The Boys by Mary Weber

This is also a NetGalley download. And whoa does it sound great. The title in itself is so leading, it is what enticed me to click on the link to the book in the first place. Once I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read it! Basically, and I paraphrase quite brutally here, in a small town, in the middle of nowhere (typical), there has been a competition, that has for the last 55 years, been entered and won, only by boys. The winner receives a full scholarship to a prestigious university. The women in the town are to be house wives and are trained to do so. Until one day, they break the mold and two cousins, dress as boys and enter the competition.    Now, I am in no way, a radical feminist, but how awesome does this book sound? To  be honest, I have a feeling that the pace is going to be a little slow, but I’m hoping the content makes up for that!

And that’s a wrap. There are the 5 books at the top of my TBR this month. There are sooo many that I have sitting here, waiting to be read, but these are the top of the list. I’m looking forward to doing a November wrap-up to see if I get to reading all of these, and also, to see if I enjoy them as much as I think I will?

That’s it for now!
